In the heart of the charming village of Montescaglioso, overlooking the majestic surrounding valleys and a short distance from the renowned Matera, this historic 18th-century palace enchants with its timeless charm. A beautifully restored residence, where the art of Italian craftsmanship blends with contemporary design to create an atmosphere of refined elegance and warm welcome. A stroll through its rooms reveals meticulous attention to detail, from the imposing barrel vaults to the large windows overlooking an enchanting patio, offering moments of serenity and breathtaking views. The history of this place, once the residence of Baroness Agata Giordani, intertwines with the millennia-old history of the village of Montescaglioso, enriching the experience of those who stay there with a profound sense of connection to the past. After passing through a large gate and crossing the atrium with a wide staircase, you enter a spacious entrance and, immediately adjacent, a cozy living area. From here, you enter the remarkable and spacious dining room, with barrel vaults over 5 meters high, or, through a corridor, to the sleeping area with 3 spacious bedrooms with bathrooms, one of which is a loft. On the opposite side of the house, once you pass the main entrance, you enter the large island kitchen, with comfortable seating for breakfast and an additional loft, which can be used according to the owner's needs. The kitchen, living room, and two of the bedrooms overlook, through large windows, the patio which allows you to enjoy some views of the historic center, ensuring privacy. From the patio, you then access a splendid turret that houses a fourth bedroom with a bathroom, and then the wonderful solarium terrace with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys for tens of kilometers, but also of the historic center and one of the most important abbey in southern Italy. Finally, from the patio, descending the stairs, you access an internal courtyard and a further large room with splendid vaults, which also serves as a separate secondary entrance to the palace. Perfectly integrated into the environment, the furnishings reflect the excellence of Italian craftsmanship: teak with hand-oiled finish for custom-made furnishings, solid brass and bronze for lamps and details, contemporary linen weaves and brocades for fabrics. The eclectic elegance of the interiors perfectly dialogues with the historicity of the place, enriched by pieces of modernism from the 1940s and 1950s. With Matera and its suggestive 'sassi' just minutes away, and the splendid surrounding hills inviting exploration, this residence represents a luxury retreat immersed in the beauty and history of Basilicata.
